BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Bloomington PrairieThunder coach Jarrod Skalde announced Tuesday the signing of rookie goaltender Kevin Armstrong to an International Hockey League contract.

Armstrong takes the place of goalie Andrew Martin, who was placed on the 30-day injury list Monday with a hip aliment. Martin has a 10-9-2-3 record with a 3.11 goals against average and an.893 save percentage in 27 games.

The 21-year-old Armstrong began the season in Tulsa of the CHL. He appeared in 22 games and had an 11-8-1 record with a 3.62 goals against average and an.885 save percentage.

Armstrong, a 6-foot-1, 198-pound native of Winnipeg, began his pro career late last season with Muskegon. He played in seven games and posted a 2-1 record with a 4.24 goals against average and a.875 save percentage.
