Powerhouse Forward Thomas Amang Joins Orange County SC

Orange County SC today announced the signing of dynamic forward Thomas Amang for the 2023 USL Championship season. Amang makes the short journey up the freeway to join the Black and Orange, after most recently appearing for the San Diego Loyal.

The 25-year-old native of Douala, Cameroon will be coming into his seventh professional season off the heels of his most productive year. Amang recorded 11 goals and four assists in 33 matches played across all competitions last year, all of which are career highs. He also scored in each one of his trips to Championship Soccer Stadium last year.

"I have a lot of respect for Orange County, they are always competitive and have great fans," Amang said. "I can't wait to score goals and win games for the club and their fans."

Amang has also had a stop in Colorado Springs with the Switchbacks in 2021, his first season playing in the United States. While a member of the Switchbacks he made 13 appearances and scored three goals and chipped in one assist.

"Thomas is a dynamic and powerful forward that will give our front line a different look," OCSC Sporting Director Peter Nugent said. "We were keen to add a forward with his qualities and believe he will have a tremendous impact on the team. We look forward to integrating him into the squad."

Prior to coming to the USL-C, Amang played two seasons with Gimnàstic de Tarragona in Spain's Third Division and also played in Norway for Molde FK for three seasons in 2016-2018. He made 50 appearances and recorded 11 goals and four assists in all competitions. He finished his time in Norway with Kristiansund BK in 2019, where he recorded 15 appearances in all competitions.
