Mississauga Power News Release

(Mississauga, ON -) The Mississauga Power have signed 7'0 centre, Charles Okwandu and released 6'10 centre, Dusan Virijevic.

Okwandu most recently played for Rio Grande Valley in the NBA Developmental League. Prior to that, Okwandu played for the University of Connecticut for three seasons. When asked about what he would bring to the team, Okwandu stated: "I'm glad to be able to come help out the team. I'm a great rebounder and that's what coach has asked me to do. I'm still learning but I've had great coaches. I will use what I've learned both at UConn and the NBA D-League to contribute to the team."

Virijevic played four games for the Power, averaging 2.25 points per game and 1 rebound per game in 5.5 minutes per game.

"Our expectation is that Charles will bring a much needed rebounding and defensive presence to our team. He is mobile, athletic and has a great feel for the game which will give our coaching staff more options," stated John Wiggins, VP of Operations. Wiggins continued, "The Power organization thanks Dusan for his professionalism and leadership over the past few months. We wish him great success as he continues with his career aspirations."

The Power are in the middle of a three game road trip. The team takes on Ottawa tonight at the Canadian Tire Centre before heading to London tomorrow to play the Lightning. The Power will return to the Hershey Centre on Thursday, November 21st to take on the London Lightning.
