
Power Lose Tight Game with Express

(Mississauga, ON - ) The Mississauga Power returned to the Hershey Centre tonight to begin a three game home stand to close out the 2013-2014 season. In a very physical game, the Express were able to take the 110-102 win. Morgan Lewis continued his hot streak by leading the Power with 19 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists while Jaushay Rockett added 20 points. Three players scored over 20 for the Express, with Darren Duncan leading the pack with 23 points.
The Express came out strong, holding a lead for the majority of the quarter, up by as much as ten points. The Power closed out the quarter on a small run to cut the Express lead to 26-20 heading into the second. In the second quarter, the two teams played an up tempo style, scoring back and forth consecutively and putting on a great show. The Power narrowly outscored the Express 29-20 to cut the Express lead to 53-49 heading into halftime.
The teams continued to battle in the third, with no team taking a clear advantage. The Express built up a ten point lead late in the third only to have the Power close out the quarter with a Jaushay Rockett three pointer, cutting the Express lead to 81-74. The Express started the fourth quarter on a 10-2 run. The Power mounted a come back late in the fourth with a 8-4 run, prompting a Windsor timeout. The Power were not able to complete the late comeback as Windsor regained control to take the win. The loss drops the Power to 9-29 for the season.
The Power play next on February 25th against The Island Storm followed by Fan Appreciation Night on February 27th against the Brampton A's.
