Powell Recalled from D-League

DALLAS- The Dallas Mavericks announced today they have recalled Josh Powell from the Fort Worth Flyers of the NBA D-League. Powell was originally assigned the Flyers on February 26 and appeared in 3 games averaging 17.7 points (71.0% FGs) and 7.0 rebounds in 29.7 minutes per game. He made two starts with the team.
Powell (6-9, 225) has played 16 games for Dallas this season starting one time. He has averaged 0.8 points and 1.1 rebounds in 6.3 minutes per game. He tallied a career-high 6 points and 2 blocks at Houston on January 18.
The undrafted rookie played for the Mavericks during the Reebok Vegas Summer League and the Reebok Rocky Mountain Revue in Utah. In nine total games, he averaged 11.6 points (50.0% FGs), 8.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 25.8 minutes per game. In addition, he led the Vegas Summer League in rebounding.
Powell spent two seasons at North Carolina State before turning pro. He played professionally in Europe for Lokomotiv Rostov na Donu of the Russian Superleague and Eurorida Scafati of the Italian Lega2 (2003-04) and then for Pepsi Caserta in the Italian Lega2 (2004-05).
