Potomac Nationals to host job fair

WOODBRIDGE, Va. - The Potomac Nationals, the Carolina League affiliate for the Washington Nationals, will be hosting their annual job fair Wednesday, March 4th and Thursday, March 5th from 5-8 pm at Pfitzner Stadium. The Nationals will look to hire gameday employees for the upcoming 2009 season, which lasts from April to September.

"If you're a young worker looking for a place to gain valuable employment experience, working with the Nationals is a fantastic place to do so," said Carter Buschman, Director of Stadium Operations. "We're looking for fun, enthusiastic, and energetic candidates to make the 2009 season as successful as 2008. These jobs are perfect for students, retired persons, or anyone who would like to work a part-time job in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere."

The Nationals will be looking to fill between 50-75 part time/paid positions. Available jobs include Concessions Clerks, Ticket Takers, Souvenir Sales, Grounds Crew, Ushers, Cooks, Cashiers, and Parking Lot Attendees. In order to apply for a position within the organization, applicants must be at least 14 years of age or older. The Nationals also encourage non-profit organizations to apply in order to help their groups raise money.

In order to have the best opportunity at landing a position with the Nationals organization, applicants should make it a priority to attend the job fair. Interviews will be conducted on a first come, first serve basis. Job seekers are able to complete an application upon arrival to the job fair or go online to www.potomacnationals.com to download one beforehand. Applicants can also visit the Nationals' ticket office (open M-F 9 am-5 pm) to pick up the form. Applications will not be accepted in advance of the job fair. Season tickets and ticket packages for the 2009 season are on sale now. The Potomac Nationals offer a variety of different ticket packages ranging from "The Weekender" - a 34-game package featuring all Friday, Saturday, and Sunday games along with Opening Day and Labor Day - to six-game packages.
