Potential Mill Rats Playoff Opponent Visits Harbour Station Today 4 PM

April 24, 2016 - National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada) - Saint John Riptide News Release

(SAINT JOHN, NB): The Saint John Mill Rats face a potential first round playoff opponent today at 4PM at Harbour Station as the Island Storm pay their final regular season game against the Mill Rats.

The Storm are 13-24 and just 1 game behind the Moncton Miracles (14-23) for the 3rd seed in the Atlantic Division playoffs. Moncton plays at Charlottetown on April 30 in a game that could determine the seeding.

Halifax and Saint John have clinched the top two seeds.

Which ever team finishes 3rd will face Saint John in the first round. The series would begin at Harbour Station on May 4th and 5th.

No doubt in today's game between the Storm and the Mill Rats, both teams will be looking to make a playoff statement.

"We heard that the Storm would like to play us in the first round (instead of Halifax)," said Mill Rats President Ian McCarthy. "But we aren't worried about who we play, moreso we are concerned about how we play, and bringing that intensity every game."

The Mill Rats currently sit at a franchise record 9-games over .500 at 23-14 and look to finish the regular season strong.
