· The Baltimore Bayhawks improved to 5-3 on the season with a 15-13 come-from-behind victory over the Long Island Lizards at Mitchel Field on Friday night ... With the loss, the Lizards fall to 4-4 on the season ... The game was rescheduled from June 25, which was called due to severe weather ... Rain fell throughout the first half of the game before subsiding during the second half.
· With their win, the Bayhawks improved to 5-0 on the year away from Johnny Unitas ® Stadium ... Baltimore is 0-3 at home so far this year with three games left on the home schedule ... The perfect away record includes a pair of wins at neutral site games (5/22 vs. Rochester in Seattle, 6/5 vs. New Jersey in Denver).
· The win marked Baltimore's first victory over the Lizards in Long Island since the 2001 season ... Baltimore defeated the Lizards at EAB Park by 16-10 on July 14 ... Baltimore had lost two straight at Long Island.
· Baltimore leads the regular season series by 4-3 with the win on Friday night ... The all-time series is tied at 5-5, including the postseason ... Long Island has won two of three postseason games in the series with the Bayhawks, including last year's New Balance MLL Championship Game.
· The Lizards were playing in their first game since losing A Kevin Lowe for the season to a knee injury ... Lowe was second in the league with 20 assists before suffering the injury against the Barrage last Thursday night ... Lowe had recorded five assists in the loss to Philadelphia before the injury.
· Baltimore A Mark Millon extended his streak of consecutive games with a goal to 20 straight with a four-goal, four-assist performance in the win over Long Island ... Millon has scored in every game since a 10-7 win over Rochester on August 8, 2002.
· Baltimore M Gary Gait extended his streak of consecutive games with a goal to 24 straight with one goal against the Lizards on Friday night ... His goal in the third quarter with 6:56 left gave the Bayhawks a 10-9 lead ... Gait is just three games away from tying the team record, which is held by A Tom Marechek during the 2001 and 2002 seasons ... The league record for consecutive games with a goal is 43, held by New Jersey's Jesse Hubbard.
· Baltimore GK Rob Scherr made 20 saves to earn his second win of the season ... It marked the second time in three games that Scherr has recorded 20 or more saves ... Scherr has averaged 20 saves in his three appearances this season.
· Long Island GK Brian Dougherty stopped 24 shots in the loss to Baltimore on Friday night ... He had averaged 29 saves in each of his last three games.
· Baltimore M/FO Paul Cantabene returned to his winning ways at the face-off "X" with 22 wins in 32 attempts ... He was held to just 13 wins in 29 attempts against the Pride last week ... Cantabene is the league leader in face-off percentage, winning 64.1 per cent of his draws this season.
· Cantabene was held to less than 10 ground balls for the first time this season ... He recorded eight ground balls against the Lizards on Friday night ... He still leads the league with 93 ground balls through seven games played this season.
· Long Island A Tim Goettelmann scored two goals in the loss to Baltimore, upping his career goal total to 99 goals ... With his next goal, Goettelmann will become the eighth player in MLL history to score 100 regular season goals ... He scored two goals with two assists in the loss to the Bayhawks.
· Baltimore used a 5-1 run in the fourth quarter to take the victory over the Lizards ... Down by 12-11 going into the fourth quarter, the Bayhawks used a pair of goals by A Mark Millon and goals from A Dan Marohl and A Tom Marechek ... In addition, the Bayhawks took advantage of an own goal that was scored when GK Brian Dougherty dropped the ball out of his stick ... It rolled across the goal line behind Dougherty to score the final goal of the game.
