Portland Lumberjax News Release
PORTLAND, December 10, 2008 - The Portland LumberJax have acquired defenseman Luke Forget and a Fourth Round Pick in the 2009 National Lacrosse League Entry Draft from the Rochester Knighthawks in exchange for a Second Round Selection in the 2010 Entry Draft, Head Coach/General Manager Derek Keenan announced today. Forget played for Portland in 2006 as the Woodstock, Ontario native scored three goals, added six assists and collected 50 loose balls in 10 games of action.
Forget played for the Knighthawks for the past two seasons, winning the Champion's Cup in 2007 and scoring one goal and adding three assists last season for Rochester.
"We're very happy to get Luke back," said Keenan. "He was a very important cog in our 11-5 inaugural season. He has played on two championship teams in 2005 with Toronto and in 2007 with Rochester and will come in and assume a very significant role on the back end. He's an athletic and skilled defender."
Portland also announced the release of forwards Kevin Hanson, Kyle McEwen and transition player Brandon McKinnon.
