Friday, Oct. 13 Port Huron 2 vs. Flint Generals 1

While the Generals drew first blood, with Jan Jas' score at 1:43 in the first, it was the Flags who ultimately grabbed the victory. A power play goal by Center Steve Hildenbrand at 5:29 in the first, followed by the game winner by Center Jeremy Tucker at 13:50 in the third sealed the deal for the Flags. While Flint's Jason Muzzatti had a solid 22 saves of 24 shots, Port Huron's Dustin Traylen secured the win with 26 saves on 27 shots.

Looking to avenge their home opener loss, the Generals scored twice in the second period during power plays. Jan Eriksson at 11:04, was proceeded by Jason Selleke at 13:36. The Flags made a game of it in the third, with Brad Bonello scoring at 18:26 on an assist from Jeff Cameron. The Flags recorded 28 shots on goal, 27 of which were saved by Flint's Bryan Worosz. The Generals shot 26 times, with Port Huron's Traylen saving 24.
