San Jose CyberRays News Release

SAN JOSE (July 2, 2003) – The CyberRays have signed forward Kim Patrick of Pleasanton as a developmental player, filling the team's only vacant roster position.

Last week the CyberRays waived developmental goalkeeper Julie Podhrasky to make room for an additional field player during the team's WUSA season stretch run.

Patrick, 22, led Tennessee the last two seasons in goals, points, shots and shots on goal. A high school all-American at Foothill High, she originally went to North Carolina where she led the Atlantic Coast Conference in goals and scoring her freshman season and played for two national championship teams. She had a goal and an assist in the 1999 NCAA semifinal game played at Spartan Stadium in which UNC defeated Penn State 2-0, and she assisted on the game-winning goal in North Carolina's 2-0 victory over Notre Dame for the championship.

The CyberRays have six games remaining in the WUSA regular season, four of them in Spartan Stadium beginning with a July 20 match against the Philadelphia Charge, and rank last in the league in scoring.
