OKC Energy FC hosts Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC in the first playoff game in Energy FC history. After a second-place finish in the regular season, OKC received a bye in the quarterfinal round, while Colorado Springs defeated Seattle Sounders FC 2 by a score of 2-0 last Friday to advance in the USL Playoffs and earn the trip to OKC.
The teams faced each other on Sept. 12 in Energy FC's regular season home finale at Taft Stadium, where they played to a 3-3 draw. OKC led the match 3-2 in stoppage time, but a penalty kick awarded to Colorado Springs led to a late goal and eventual draw. Energy FC defeated Colorado Springs 2-1 on April 4 in the only other meeting between the teams.
Energy FC's Danni Konig compiled the second-best season in goal-scoring during the 2015 season, netting 21 goals and breaking the former league record of 20 set in 2014. Louisville City FC's Matt Fondy was the first player to break the record and held a one-goal advantage over Konig to set a new USL record.
OKC finished the 2015 regular season with a 13-7-8 record and second place finish. The club went 9-14-5, finishing in 10th place in its inaugural season of 2014.
