Evansville BlueCats News Release

The Evansville BlueCats are excited to announce that the final regular season home game for the 2005 season will be known as "Fan Appreciation Night" this Saturday when the BlueCats take on the Tupelo FireAnts at Roberts Stadium. Kickoff will be at 7:05pm.

With a victory Saturday, the BlueCats can clinch the first ever playoff appearance in franchise history.

Last weekend, the BlueCats and FireAnts met at the BancorpSouth Center in Tupelo, where the BlueCats pulled out a 39-32 victory.

Fabulous events and prize giveaways have been planned to thank the BlueCats fans for their support this season. The first 1,000 fans to purchase tickets at the Roberts Stadium box office will receive a ticket for the special "Fan Appreciation Night" price of $5. Tickets are on sale now.

Halftime will feature the Vanderburgh Humane Society field goal kicking contest for 3 lucky fans with a possible $1,000 cash prize.

There will be a special "Fan Appreciation Night" sale on all BlueCats merchandise. Stop by one of the merchandise booths at Roberts Stadium for a special 2 for 1 discount on all BlueCats merchandise. Purchase one item at regular price and get a second item of equal or lesser value for free. Wooden Nickel and Booster Club discounts do not apply to this special sale.

The first 2,000 fans in the stadium will receive a free Evansville BlueCats Spirit Sign. The official spirit signs will be available at all gates.

The FinHeads Booster Club will be selling 10 tickets for $5.00 for this weeks half pot. They will also raffle off an autographed helmet and selling custom made BlueCats mini helmets.

A BlueCats franchise record breaking number of t-shirts will be thrown or launched into the crowd throughout the game.

As always, free Souvenir Programs will be available.

Beat the heat, avoid pesky insects and enjoy a sporting event this weekend in the air-conditioned comfort of Roberts Stadium.

The BlueCats (6-6) currently sit in second place in the UIF South Division. They hold a two game lead over third place Tennessee Valley (4-8) with three games remaining for both teams. Evansville holds the tiebreaker with the Tennessee Valley Raptors because the BlueCats defeated the Raptors in two of the three games played between the teams this season.

Get close to the action this Saturday night at "Fan Appreciation Night" at Roberts Stadium. Be there as the BlueCats attempt to earn their first playoff berth in franchise history against the Tupelo FireAnts. Kickoff is set for 7:05pm at Roberts Stadium.
