Player Spotlight: Beau Michaud

Ladies and Gentleman, this week's Ground Round player spotlight feature Beau Michaud. This is Beau's second season as a Blizzard. Beau is from Esko, MN graduated from Cloquet High School in 2012. Hockey has been huge part of Beau's life since he was 4 years old.

Beau is the son of Brian Michaud and Shawna Smalley, step son to Noel Michaud. He has two brothers, step sister, and two step brothers, whom all play hockey. Beau's step brother, Justin Ketola, is a first year goalie for the Blizzard this season. His billet family is Tim and Lynal Jensen and their two boys, Egan and Max.

Beau loves to spend his time outdoors. His favorite season is fall. Those who know Beau know he loves to hunt. Goose hunting is his favorite but he is also a fan of bow hunting. Hunting in general is Beau's second love, after hockey of course. If he isn't hunting or play hockey you can generally find Beau outside. Whether it's on the golf course or at the lake. Even during the cold Minnesota winter months, Beau is outside snowmobiling, ice fishing, and outdoor hockey.

Beau isn't just a hockey boy, he has played other sports as well, baseball and golf. His favorite hockey team is the Chicago Blackhawks.

Being a returner to the Blizzard, Beau has shown a lot of leadership the first four games of the seasons. In the 2013-2014 season Beau had 7 goals and 13 assists in 52 games. Beau has kicked of his 2014-2015 season like a rock star. Only four games in to the season Beau has had 3 goals and 6 assists to lead the team with nine points.

Everyone knows that boys love their food and that includes Beau. He loves a lot of different foods but his favorite is Chicken Enchilada and the game he hunts. He loves the color orange, country music is by far his favorite.

Beau is working to play college hockey after completing his junior hockey career. Beau will be recognized at the home game on Saturday. The first 300 fans will receive a Beau Michaud Ground Round playing card.
