ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Saint Louis FC travels to face Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC on Saturday, August 22nd at 6:00 p.m. CT at Highmark Stadium in Match 9 of the USL Championship regular season.
The teams will play their seventh contest against each other with Saint Louis FC looking to improve their 1-2-3 record in the series. The teams last played in October 2019 with Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC walking away with a 1-0 victory to ensure Saint Louis FC did not qualify for the 2019 USL Playoffs.
Saint Louis FC is coming off a 3-1 victory against Sporting KC II for their first win since July 26th after a three-game streak that only yielded one point from a possible nine points available. The team currently sits 3rd in Group E with Louisville City FC ahead in the playoff positions by goal difference. Saint Louis FC features two former Riverhounds players with goalkeeper Kyle Morton and defender Tobi Adewole returning to Highmark Stadium for the first time since signing this past offseason.
Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC comes off a 2-0 win against Loudoun United on Wednesday night with Steevan Dos Santos and Lukas Fernandes scoring the early goals. The team is led by former STLFC goalkeeper and St. Louis-native TomaÃÂs GomeÃÂz with 10 saves and two clean sheets this season, even though he did not feature in the midweek fixture against Loudoun United.
The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+ starting at 6:00 p.m. CT and available to stream.
