Metairie, LA -- As part of the festivities for the New Orleans Zephyrs' annual Bark In The Park, the Villalobos Rescue Center of Animal Planet's "Pit Bulls and Parolees" will be on hand to film an episode of the hit series when the Zephyrs face the Omaha Storm Chasers on Sunday, April 12.

Personalities scheduled to appear include Mariah and Tania, who will be bringing dogs featured on the show that are up for adoption.

50% of each ticket sold for Bark In The Park will be donated to the Villalobos Rescue Center to help fund repairs for ongoing flooding problems. Tickets can be purchased online at zephyrsbaseball.com or Ticketmaster using a special link and the passcode "vrctix" or fans can mention Villalobos Rescue Center when purchasing tickets through the Zephyr Field box office.

The first 1,000 fans in attendance at Bark In The Park will receive a Frisbee courtesy of Raising Cane's. All fans are encouraged to bring their pets for an afternoon at the ballpark, which will include a pregame dog parade on the field and pet-themed vendors on the concourse. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.

"Pit Bulls and Parolees" debuted on Animal Planet in 2009 depicting the day-to-day operations of the center to rescue abused, neglected and abandoned dogs. The Villalobos Rescue Center, the country's largest pit bull animal shelter located in the Lower Ninth Ward, is home to approximately 400 dogs.

Single game tickets are now on sale for the Zephyrs' 2015 season, which opens on Thursday, April 9 against Omaha. For more information or to purchase tickets, call the Zephyrs at (504) 734-5155.
