WEEK IN REVIEW

Saturday, April 27th : at Syracuse 4, Portland 3

The Pirates jumped out to a 2-0 lead, with Darian Dziurzynski and David Rundblad getting the early tallies, but the Crunch would come back to tie the game. Richard Panik scored the game winner in overtime for the Crunch. Chad Johnson stopped 35 shots in the loss and Chris Brown provided the other Pirates goal.

Sunday, April 28th : at Syracuse 4, Portland 2

Syracuse scored the first 4 goals of the game to take a commanding lead and the Pirates were unable to fight back, dropping a 4-2 decision. Brandon Gormley and Nick Johnson were credited with the goals for the Pirates, and Chad Johnson stopped 30 shots in the loss.

THIS COMING WEEK

Thursday, May 2nd vs. Syracuse (7 PM)

Portland will return home for Game 3 on Thursday. The Pirates find themselves in a must-win situation for the remainder of the series. Puck drop is set for 7 PM.

Friday, May 3rd vs. Syracuse (7 PM) *If Necessary

A Portland victory on Thursday will force a Game 4, to take place on Friday at the Cumberland County Civic Center. Puck drop would beat 7 PM.

Sunday, May 5th at Syracuse (7:30 PM) *If Necessary

Two Pirates at the Civic Center would force a decisive Game 5 back at the Onondaga War Memorial in Syracuse. Puck drop would be at 7:30 PM.

SALTY PETE'S PIRATES OF THE WEEK

1) Chad Johnson stopped 65 of the 73shots he faced in games 1 and 2.

2) Brandon Gormley had 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists) for the Pirates in the first two games of the series to lead the team.

3) Nick Johnson had a goal and an assist in Sunday's game to lead the Pirates.
