He will be able to suit up for the first time in a Pirates uniform this season on December 27 when they take on the Hartford Wolf Pack at the XL Center.

He made relief appearances for the Pirates on December 12 at Providence and December 17 at home against Manchester.

Mannino previously played 15 games for the Pirates during the 2011-12 season. The 30 year-old is in his seventh professional season and has played a total of six NHL games for the New York Islanders, Atlanta Thrashers, and Winnipeg Jets.
