Pirates Announce Training Camp and Pre-Season Game Schedule

Portland, Maine - The Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League announced today that their 2012-2013 training camp schedule is set to begin on Saturday, September 29.

All practice sessions will be open to the public and will be held at the Portland Ice Arena (PIA), beginning Sunday, September 30 at 8:50 A.M. until Thursday October 11. (Please see the 2012-2013 Portland Pirates Training Camp and pre-season game schedule attached).

The Pirates will scrimmage the University of New Brunswick on October 4 at 1:00 P.M. (PIA), followed by the team's first pre-season game against the Manchester Monarchs on Sunday, October 7 at 1:00 P.M. also at the Portland Ice Arena, where Pirates fans can catch a glimpse of the future stars of the Phoenix Coyotes. Tickets to the game on October 7 will also be available for sale (cash only) beginning at 11:00 A.M. on October 7 at the Portland Ice Arena.

The Pirates will travel to the ICENTER in Salem, NH to play the Manchester Monarchs on October 8 at 3:00 P.M., concluding their pre-season schedule.

The Pirates will open their 20th Anniversary season, presented by Bill Dodge Auto Group, on the road against the Adirondack Phantoms on October 13 at 7:00 P.M. The Pirates first home game will be played in Lewiston, Maine at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee on October 19 at 7:00 P.M. against the Worcester Sharks. The team will play its first game in Portland on Friday, November 2 at 7:30 P.M. vs. St. John's at the Cumberland County Civic Center.
