WORCESTER, MA - The Massachusetts Pirates, Champions of the Indoor Football League, have signed defensive linemen Claudell Louis and Theo Majette for the upcoming season. Both have experience in the Canadian Football League and earned All-Conference honors while playing collegiately.
Louis, 6'4", 290 lbs., was born in Haiti and came to the United States in 2001, settling in Boynton Beach, FL. He began his football career playing in junior college at the College of the Sequoias in Visalia, CA. After two seasons he transferred to Fresno State. From 2013 through 2015 he played in 26 games making 57 tackles with eight for a loss and 5.5 sacks. He also defended one pass, recovered a fumble and blocked one kick. In his senior season he made 41 tackles, had five sacks and 6.5 tackles for a loss and received Honorable Mention honors on the All-Mountain West team.
In 2016 Louis signed with the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent. That same year he played in preseason games with the Minnesota Vikings. Louis got his first taste of CFL football in 2017 going to camp with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. In 2018 he joined the British Columbia Lions, where he played two seasons. As a rookie he appeared in 11 games making 31 tackles with two sacks and was the Lions' finalist for CFL Most Outstanding Rookie. In 2021 Louis joined the Lions coaching staff as a defensive assistant.
Majette, who hails from West Bloomfield, MI, was most recently in training camp with the Calgary Stampeders in 2020. The 6'0", 260 lb. defensive lineman was a Third Team All-Mid America Conference selection in 2019. That season Majette played in 13 games and led the Golden Flashes with 5.5 sacks and four quarterback hurries while making 41 tackles. In all, Majette played in 46 games over four seasons with 84 tackles with 21 tackles for a loss, had 14 sacks and 10 quarterback hurries.
