LUDLOW, Mass., April 4, 2010 - As the Western Mass Pioneers near the kickoff of their 2010 season, West Springfield native, Chris Roswess, becomes their second official roster signing. Roswess is a standout junior at the University of Massachusetts - Amherst and will be putting his gifted speed and footwork in the forward position as a Pioneer in the PDL.

Roswess received high accolades while attending West Springfield High School. The 2007 graduate finished his soccer career with 67 goals and 23 assists, earning him Division I MVP honors. At UMass, Chris has already proved his prowess and vitality by starting all 17 of the 2009 season's games. He had a game-winning goal against Richmond on November 6 and racked up 4 assists last year. He will be counted upon to take his grace on the field to the next level as he'll join the Red, White, and Black attack of the Western Mass Pioneers during their inaugural season in PDL competition.

"I'm looking forward to playing with the Pioneers with my family, friends, and Pioneers fans cheering me on. I can't wait for the season to begin" Roswess stated. General Manager Greg Kolodziey adds "Chris brings a lot to the table. His skill and speed as a forward will terrorize the opposition".

The Pioneers will be facilitating Soccer Camps over the course of the 2010 summer. Local stars like Chris Roswess will be on-hand to help area youth develop the soccer skills and fundamentals necessary to excel both on and off the field.
