Pioneers Prepare for Home Opener

Wilkes-Barre, PA- The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers held an open house and scrimmage on Friday, March 25th with the Albany Conquest and Manchester Wolves. Along with the scrimmage the team held a canned food drive to benefit Saint Vincent dePaul's soup kitchen in Wilkes-Barre, PA.

The Pioneers are now looking toward their season's Home Opener on Friday, April 1st against the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz at 7:30 pm. The game will be at the Wachovia Arena in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Tickets will be on sale at the box office at 10:00 am Friday morning as well as through all Ticketmaster outlets.

"We are excited to get the 2005 season underway," said Pioneers Head Coach Les Moss. "The team is starting to come together and we are eager to see what they will accomplish this season."

As a season kick off event, the Pioneers will be holding a Pep-rally for all fans and corporate sponsors at the Woodlands Inn and Resort on Wednesday, March 30 from 9-11 pm. This event is open to the public and members of the media are encouraged to join for a meet and greet with coaching staff, players and dance team members. Free appetizers will be served. Anyone who receives an invitation to the event will be granted free admission; otherwise, there will be a cover charge. Invitations can be acquired at the Woodlands entrance that evening.

Pioneers single game, season tickets and group tickets are now on sale. Anyone interested in purchasing tickets may do so by calling (570) 270-5811 or (570) 270-5813. Single game tickets are available for as little as $7 and season tickets are available for as low as $40.
