Elmira Pioneers News Release
After dropping a couple of heartbreakers Saturday night to the Newark Pilots, the Pioneers ended their 5 game losing streak by pounding 16 hits, including 4 doubles in a 13-2 rout of the Watertown Wizards on Sunday afternoon. The offensive outburst was led by Justin Lacy who had 3 hits and 3 RBI's. Aaron Zaleznik picked up the win, giving up 2 runs in 5 innings. Jordan Carter, Jay Ferri and Cody Kentzel kept the Wizards off the board the last four frames.
The Pioneers return to Dunn Field to start a six game homestand with a two game series against their bitter rival the Amsterdam Mohawks on Tuesday, June 21. The series concludes on Wednesday, June 22. After an off day the Pioneers are home Friday and Saturday against the Watertown Wizards. Both games will feature "Lucky Fan" giveaways including an HD TV, a DVD player, gift certificates and more.
Tickets can be purchased in advance for all Pioneers games at the team's exclusive retail ticket outlet Jubilee Foods, located at 2898 Westinghouse Road in Horseheads.
