WILKES-BARRE, PA - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers scored on every single offensive possession as they trounced the Albany Conquest 69-27 Friday night at Wachovia Arena.

Albany came out in the first half looking to slow down the high-powered Pioneers offense. They managed to do so in the first quarter, holding Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to two touchdowns, while QB Dan Cole found Antwun Williams for an 8-yard TD pass and a 14-7 score after one quarter. The second quarter was an entirely different story as the Pioneers erupted on both sides of the ball. The Pioneers offense scored 28 points while Albany's offense sputtered. The Conquest turned the ball over on downs twice and WR Chris Bocage fumbled the ball at the one-yard line as he was trying to stretch into the end zone. Bocage made up for it right before halftime as he return a kickoff 56-yards for a touchdown, cutting lead to 42-14 at the half. QB Ryan Vena finished the first half with six touchdown passes, including three to WR Larry Kendrick.

The second half was not much better for the visitors as the Pioneers defense forced Albany to turnover on downs again to start the third quarter. Albany's offense had another turnover on downs on their first possession of the second half, then later in the quarter Barry Drakeford intercepted a Cole pass on fourth down. The Conquest held the Pioneers to just seven points in the fourth quarter, but the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton defense came up with another turnover on downs, the sixth Albany turnover of the game. Cole linked up with Williams for two TD passes in the second half, but Vena finished off the Conquest with four more touchdown passes for a 69-27 final score.

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton QB Ryan Vena was 26-for-32 passing, with 300 yards and 10 passing touchdowns to lead the Pioneers offense. Albany QB Dan Cole finished the game 19-for-40, with 161 yards, 3 touchdowns and 1 interception. Pioneers WR J.J. Outlaw had a game-high 9 catches for 81 yards and 1 touchdown, while receivers Larry Kendrick and Prince Prempeh each had 3 TD receptions. Conquest WR Antwun Williams led the team with 6 catches for 58 yards and 3 touchdowns.
