Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers News Release
Wilkes-Barre, PA - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers were assigned wide receiver/defensive back Randy Washington by the arenafootball2 league office Monday. Washington will participate in this weekend's game against the Quad City Steamwheelers.
"Randy's a solid athlete," said Pioneers Head Coach Dean Cokinos. "He's got some arena experience, and we believe he can contribute to this team."
Aside from Washington's assignment, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton reshuffled its line-up in preparation for this weekend's game in Quad City.
Offensive specialist Opio Gary, fullback/linebacker Harold Jackson, wide receiver/defensive backs Jason Lawson, and kicker Stefan Schroffner have all been placed on injured reserve. The recently activated Harry Brunson (WR/LB), Johnathon Jackson (OS), and Leon Grove (DS) will replace them on the game-day roster.
The Pioneers next home game will be Saturday, April 26 against the Rochester Brigade. Individual game tickets are on sale and can be purchased at the First Union Arena box office or through Ticketmaster (570-693-4100). Ticket prices for all 2003 regular season games start at just $9.00. Fans may still inquire about season and group tickets by contacting the Pioneers' ticketing office at (570) 270-5811 or (570) 270-3848.
