Pioneers Announce Volunteer Day at Dunn Field

The Elmira Pioneers today announced their first annual "Volunteers Day" at Dunn Field. "We have had so many people tells us that they would be willing to help the Pioneers get ready for the season, that we decided to make a day of it. Let's celebrate the great generosity of our Pioneers fans.", said team GM Jeff Kunion.

"Volunteer Day" is Saturday, June 4, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon. Volunteers will be asked to help spruce up the park. The Pioneers will provide drinks, snacks and souvenirs for all participants.

Pioneers Opening Weekend begins June 9 versus the Cooperstown Hawkeyes. It's Thirsty Thursday, all drinks are $1.00. Enjoy the pregame Party in the Park Concert and the post game Fireworks Show, presented by the City of Elmira. "Lucky Fan" giveaways include the Allegiant Air Weekend Vacation in Orlando, an HD TV, a DVD player, a digital camcorder, jewelry, restaurant gift certificates and more.

Friday, June 10 is Buffalo Wild Wings Night, the first 500 fans receive a coupon for six free wings at Buffalo Wild Wings. Saturday, June 11 is Home Necessities Water Bottle Night, the first 500 fans receive a free water bottle courtesy of Home Necessities.

Both nights feature "Lucky Fan" giveaways including an HD TV, a DVD player, an MP3 player, digital camcorder and more. The Party in the Park Concert Series continues after the game on Saturday night.
