Pioneers Announce Dance Team Auditions for 2003 Pony Express

Wilkes-Barre, PA -- The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers announced today auditions for the 2003 Pony Express Dance Team will be held Saturday, February 1st at Pocono Downs, 1280 Highway 315, Wilkes-Barre.
Registration for the tryout will take place between 9:00am-9:50am. Auditions will begin promptly at 10:00am.
"2003 is going to be a banner year for the Pioneers, and the Pony Express will be a big part of that," said Pioneers General Manager Rick Sneed. "I'm encouraged by the enthusiasm of the young ladies I've spoken with thus far."
The 2003 Pony Express will be managed and choreographed from within by four yet-to-be-determined co-captains. The co-captains will be responsible for all team choreography, as well as scheduling practice sessions and public appearances.
Cost to audition for the dance team is $20. Only cash, personal checks, or money orders will be accepted. Auditions will be closed to the public. All participants must be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Those interested should be at least moderately athletic and possess some cheer or dance experience. Required attire is a two-piece workout outfit or leotard with tennis shoes or dance shoes. Participants should arrive with presentable hair and makeup (no hats please). Hopefuls will be evaluated in the following categories: personality, appearance, physique, poise, talent, confidence, rhythm, and flexibility.
The Pioneers are looking for enthusiastic individuals with a cheer/dance background, a positive attitude, a love for entertaining and a desire to be part of the best dance team in arena football. Any interested parties should contact Rick Sneed at (570) 208-5406.
