Pink Night With Alabama Hammers

June 24, 2014 - Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL)
Alabama Hammers News Release

The final home game of the 2014 season for the Alabama Hammers (3-8) will be a night of pink as the Hammers are hosting Breast Cancer Awareness Night on Friday, June 27, at 7:00 p.m. at the Von Braun Center arena. The game versus the visiting Harrisburg Stampede (4-7) will wrap up the 2014 season of play for the Hammers in the Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL).

The special evening of football and celebration for Breast Cancer Awareness will include special pink footballs used during the game. As always, footballs that make their way outside the playing field can be claimed by fans and kept as souvenirs. These special edition pink footballs will make for a unique collection of memorabilia for the Alabama Hammers, defending PIFL Champions.

One in eight women and one in 1,000 men in the United States will develop invasive breast cancer. For women in the U.S., breast cancer death rates are higher than those for any other cancer, except lung cancer. Besides skin cancer, breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among American women. Just under 30-percent of cancers in women are breast cancers.

In conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Night and the conclusion of the Hammers' 2014 season, general admission-upper level tickets to the game are all $6. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the VBC Box Office or the Hammers' office located in the VBC or at the VBC Box Office on Friday evening. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Friday.
