May 5, 2015 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Grand Rapids Griffins News Release
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - In honor of this week's distinguished guests from Rockford, Ill., the Grand Rapids Griffins have teamed with Van Andel Arena and three downtown restaurants to cook up some tasty porcine portions for fans to enjoy.
Prior to Wednesday's Game 1 of the AHL's Western Conference Semifinals against the IceHogs at 7 p.m., fans can eat like a pig thanks to discounts and dinner specials at Buffalo Wild Wings, J. Gardella's Tavern and Peppino's Sports Grille, simply by showing their ticket to the game:
- Buffalo Wild Wings - 20% off menu items containing pork, specifically the Pulled Pork Sandwich and Pulled Pork Slammers appetizer;
- J. Gardella's Tavern - $4 Noble Pig Sliders (pulled pork with bacon and cheese), plus 1/2 off specials between 5 p.m.-midnight;
- Peppino's Sports Grille - $4.99 10" Bacon Pizza and $7.99 Pulled Pork Sandwich (topped with colby cheese and pickles).
For Friday's Game 2, Van Andel Arena will host an outdoor pig roast on its brick plaza on Fulton Street, adjacent to the Griffins' "Bring It Back" arena decal. From 5 p.m. until everything -- including the oink -- is gone, fans can purchase an $8 BBQ Pork Sandwich combo that includes chips and a soda or bottled water, and which ticket holders may choose to take inside the arena to enjoy once the doors are open.
All restaurant and pig roast promotions are subject to change and valid while supplies last.
