Orange County Flyers News Release
(Fullerton, CA) - The Fullerton Flyers of the Golden Baseball League have signed a deal with Phones 4 Life (www.phones4life.org). If you have any old cell phones that you are no longer using, please donate them to the Flyers and they will be given to Phones 4 Life. These phones are then recharged with Emergency 911 minutes so that Senior Citizens, Domestic Abuse Victims, Natural Disaster Survivors, etc., can all have phones in the event of an emergency. You can send the phones to: Fullerton Flyers Professional Baseball Club, 2461 E Orangethorpe Ave, Suite 102, Fullerton, CA 92831, Attn: Phones 4 Life.
"This is an amazing cause", Flyers Representative Shawna Murphy stated. "This organization is blessing the lives of hundreds of thousands of people each year. We are honored to be on board with them." The Flyers are teaming with the Long Beach Armada, also of the Golden Baseball League, in working to bring thousands of phones to this great cause.
At all Flyers and Armada home games this season, free t-shirts will be given to each fan that brings an old cell phone to the game for donation. The shirt will be co-branded with the Flyers (or Armada in Long Beach) logo, and the Phones 4 Life logo. Also, all additional donation points will be listed on the back of the shirt, as well, so if you would like to join in this great cause, please contact Shawna Murphy with the Flyers at 714-526-8326, ext 208, or smurphy@goldenbaseball.com. Your company artwork must be submitted no later than May 26 so that it can placed it on the back of the shirt.
Phones 4 Life, The Flyers, and The Armada will provide you with everything you need in order to begin collecting old phones, and when the boxes get full, you simply call the Flyers and they will send you the shipping information and account number so that you can ship the phones to them. Or, if you are local (Orange County or Long Beach), they will come by and pick them up!
Even if you can't get involved at the company level, you can personally get involved by sending all the old cell phones that you have that are not being used so that they can be put to good use immediately in areas of the country where they will be used, and appreciated!
Your assistance in this endeavor is greatly appreciated in getting to the goal of more than 10,000 phones donated to Phones 4 Life by the end of 2006! Your old cell phone could, indeed, save one person's, or more, life!
