Phoenix FC to Host Rematch against Los Angeles Blues this Sunday

Phoenix FC News Release
PHOENIX (April 9, 2013) - In its first ever USL PRO league game on March 23, Phoenix FC lost a road match 2-0 to the Los Angeles Blues in Fullerton, Calif. This Sunday, April 14 at Sun Devil Soccer Stadium in Tempe, Phoenix FC looks to even the score as it hosts the Blues for a 7:30 p.m. match.
In the first matchup, Phoenix FC was without starters Devon Grousis on defense and Darren Mackie at the forward position due to early season injuries. Starting midfielder Anthony Obodai also received a red card late in the first half, forcing Phoenix FC to play for more than one half with just 10 players. Grousis returned to the lineup on March 30, and Mackie made his first appearance of the season as a substitute in the April 7 match against Orlando City SC. All three standouts are probable for this week's roster.
"In our first match against Los Angeles, we were encouraged by the physical play but there is no doubt we also felt some first game nerves," said Managing Director, Rui Filipe Bento. "We have since grown into a more cohesive unit with much better on-field chemistry, and the players are eager for a shot at revenge against what is shaping up as a league rivalry."
Phoenix FC is 1-2-0 after winning its home opener on March 30, then dropping a home game to two-time defending USL PRO regular season champions Orlando City FC this past Sunday. The Wolves hope to be at full strength this week, with the possible return of Phoenix local Jose Ramos to the lineup after suffering a dislocated toe in a training match earlier this season. Ramos is listed as a game-time decision.
This will be the last regular season meeting between Phoenix FC and the Los Angeles Blues.
