Philadelphia Wings Acquire Goalie Mikey Thompson from Buffalo

The Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) acquired goaltender Mikey Thompson from the Buffalo Bandits in exchange for the team's 2013 third round entry draft pick.

Thompson played with Buffalo for six seasons before retiring following the 2012 season. The goaltender, hailing from Akwesasne, Ontario, has a career goals against average of 11.53 and an overall record of 31- 13. In 16 games with the Bandits last season, Thompson recorded 333 saves at a rate of 75%.

The Wings will look for Thompson to add depth in goal and serve as a back-up to starting goalie, veteran Brandon Miller who has a 5-3 record for the team this season.

Philadelphia takes on East division leader Toronto Rock at Wells Fargo Center this Saturday. The Wings are one and a half games behind the Rock in the division.
