Philadelphia Soul News Release

PHILADELPHIA (October 28, 2011) - The Philadelphia Soul announce the reassignment of linebacker Jerome Hayes (6'2, 250, Penn State) and the assignment of defensive lineman Reggie Paramoure (6'2, 280, University of Maine) for the 2012 season. Hayes joined the Soul last season after being signed from the 2010 Open Tryout, while Paramoure played nose guard for Tulsa in 2011.

"We are very excited that Jerome will be back," said Soul head coach Doug Plank. "He is a force from the 'mack' position and demands constant attention from opposing offensive lines. Reggie has the ability to free up other players because of the pressure he brings and will enable us to make big plays."

Hayes, a Bayonne, N.J. native, played in 12 games last season with the Soul. He registered 16.0 total tackles, one sack, and one interception. Prior to joining the Soul, Hayes played for Joe Paterno at Penn State (2005-08). He red-shirted his freshman season before playing in eight games on defense and special teams in 2006. While plagued with knee injuries throughout his playing career at Penn State, Hayes was known for his passion and leadership qualities.

Hayes was one of the nation's most highly recruited linebackers after concluding his stellar career at Bayonne High School in 2004. He was a 2005 Army All-American and earned First-team All-State honors his final seasons. He also was a Tom Lemming and PrepStar All-American. Hayes was the recipient of the conference Defensive Player-of-the-Year award as a senior and a three-time all-county selection. He was part of the 2002 Bayonne team that captured the state title.

Paramoure, a Trenton, NJ resident, is coming off playing in 10 games for the Tulsa Talons (2011). He recorded 12.0 total tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, and one forced fumble. Paramoure has also spent time with the af2's Albany Firebirds (2009) where he recorded 32.0 total tackles, and 5.5 sacks.
