AFL and Spalding Launch 25th Anniversary Game Ball

TULSA - The AFL, in conjunction with Spalding, is pleased to announce the launch of its special edition, 25th Anniversary game ball. As the League enters its 25th season in 2012, the ball aims to celebrate the Silver Anniversary of the Arena Football League.
The new dark leather design consists of a silver stripe and silver laces, representing the Silver Anniversary of the AFL. The 25th Anniversary logo is on the top front panel of the newly designed football. The commemorative football will be made available for purchase in the near future.
Along with the special edition football, the 25th Anniversary season will be known as the "Year of the Fan."
"Because of our tremendous fans, the Arena Football League has reached the milestone of 25 seasons," AFL Commissioner Jerry B. Kurz said. "This year we want to celebrate not only our Silver Anniversary, but we want to recognize our fans who have supported this League for so long."
The AFL is also set to launch an exclusive fan club and weekly contests throughout the offseason and into the 2012 regular season on ArenaFootball.com, Facebook and Twitter.
The 25th season kicks off on Friday, March 9, 2012 when the Pittsburgh Power visit the Orlando Predators in NFL Network's "Arena Football Friday" broadcast.
