
Phantoms Unveil Jam-Packed Promotional Schedule for 2015-16 Season

Lehigh Valley, PA - Ever wish you could get up close and personal with your favorite Phantoms players? Well, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, proud AHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, are offering fans plenty of opportunities to do just that as a series of interactive post-game events have been unveiled as part of the team's jam-packed promotional schedule for the 2015-2016 season.
As part of the team's 20th Anniversary Season and its second playing at the state-of-the-art PPL Center in Lehigh Valley, the Phantoms will host two post-game team autograph sessions (Saturday, November 28 and Sunday, March 20) along with a post-game skate with the team (Saturday, December 12) and post-game photograph session with the players on the ice (Saturday, February 13).
"It's important for our fans to get to know our players as more than just names and numbers on a jersey," said Executive Vice President Chris Porreca. "Our incredible fans help to provide one of the best home-ice advantages in the league and these interactive post-game events provide us with an opportunity to thank them for their support by meeting our players up close and personal."
But that's just the beginning.
The Phantoms will also host of series a giveaways this season, including four t-shirt giveaways on Friday, November 13; Friday, December 11; Friday, January 15; and Friday, February 19.
"The t-shirt nights were such a huge hit last season," Porreca said. "Having the arena all in unison rooting on the team provides us with a great home-ice advantage."
The giveaways actually get started with Lehigh Valley's first regular season game when the first 8,500 fans in attendance on Saturday, October 10 will receive a rally towel presented by The Morning Call.
"We want to create an exciting atmosphere right from the very first game," Porreca said. "We want to see all of our fans frantically waving their rally towels on Opening Night so we can create an incredible home-ice advantage right from the very first puck drop."
On Saturday, October 24, fans can pick up a 2015-16 magnet schedule presented by Capital BlueCross and Pita King.
Then, on Friday, October 30, the first 8,500 fans in attendance will receive a Phantoms ball cap as part of John Walson, Jr. Night presented by Service Electric Cable TV & Communications. The former president of Service Electric, Walson was a pioneer in the field of cable TV continuing the vision of his father, who invented cable television and was a great leader in the Valley. Walson was also extremely active in the community supporting every major attraction in the Lehigh Valley, including the Phantoms.
Meanwhile, the first 2,500 kids 14 and under will receive a Phantoms Youth Jersey on Sunday, October 25 presented by Capital BlueCross, Velaspan, and Dick's Sporting Goods before having the opportunity to grab a Phantoms Youth Winter Hat on Friday, December 18 presented by PPL Corporation.
In celebration of the team's 20th Anniversary Season, the Phantoms will also be hosting four "20 Years of Phantoms" nights. During these games, a different Commemorative 20th Anniversary Phantoms poster will be available to fans in attendance across those four nights. The four posters will create a series commemorating the storied history of the Phantoms. Those four nights are currently scheduled for Friday, November 6; Saturday, December 26; Friday, January 29; and Friday, March 4.
"We have a rich tradition going back 20 years," Porreca said. "We look forward to celebrating that tradition throughout our 20th Anniversary Season but particularly on these special nights."
Lehigh Valley's promotional schedule for the upcoming season also includes a variety of exciting theme nights including Pink In The Rink presented by Lehigh Valley Health Network (Wednesday, October 28), the Go Birds Tailgate featuring Eagles cheerleaders (Sunday, November 8), Boy Scout Night (Saturday, November 14), Military Appreciation Night (Wednesday, December 16), Girl Scout Night (Saturday, January 16), meLVin's Birthday Celebration (Saturday, February 27), and Fan Appreciation Night (Saturday, March 26).

On the cusp of their 20th season of operation, the Phantoms recently completed their Inaugural Season as the Lehigh Valley Phantoms playing at the brand-new PPL Center. Established in 1996, the Phantoms spent their first 13 seasons at the Spectrum in Philadelphia before re-locating to Glens Falls, New York in 2009 where the team spent the next five seasons as the Adirondack Phantoms. A new era of Phantoms hockey began in the fall of 2014 when the Lehigh Valley Phantoms began play at the state-of-the-art PPL Center. Through 19 incredibly successful campaigns, the Phantoms have captured two Calder Cup Championships (1998, 2005), two Conference Championships (1998, 2005), two Regular Season Titles (1996-97, 1997-98) and four Division Championships (1996-97, 1997-98, 1998-99, 2003-04).
