Published on August 31, 2010 under North American Hockey League (NAHL) News Release

YOUNGSTOWN, OH - Every shot... every goal, home and away - Matthew Metzger will put Youngstown Phantoms fans in the middle of the action. The New Jersey native will take to the airwaves this season as the voice of Phantoms hockey on ESPN Radio and the B2 Network. Metzger will also be the team's media relations coordinator.

"I am very excited about this opportunity," said Metzger. "This is the dream come true start to what will hopefully be a dream come true career."

"We are very excited that Matt has joined the Phantoms organization," said Team President, Alex Zoldan. "He showed a ton of enthusiasm during his interview and we just knew that it would be a perfect fit for our organization."

After completing his four years of study at Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, Metzger makes the move to Youngstown after a successful college career.

"Rider allowed me the opportunity to hone my broadcasting skills," said Metzger. "I had the opportunity to call baseball and basketball games for the Rider University Network (RUN) and for the Rider Broncs athletic program."

Metzger's first broadcast will be Saturday, October 16th as the Phantoms open up their home portion of the schedule against the defending Clark Cup Champion, Green Bay Gamblers.

Season, partial, and group tickets for the 2010-11 season are available now. Premium packages start as low as $285 for all 30 home games. Executive level packages are available for $345 and Ice level seats for just $405. For more info, call 330-747-7825. For the complete schedule, please visit www.youngstownphantoms.com.
