FRIDAY IS HOME OPENER

The Phantoms will open up the home portion of their 2004-05 schedule on Friday at 7:05 p.m. against the Hamilton Bulldogs at the Wachovia Center, and all fans in attendance will receive a free magnetic schedule, courtesy of Toyota. The Phantoms are 5-2-1 all-time in home openers and 8-7-6 all-time at the Wachovia Center. The team will also be welcoming its three millionth fan during the game.

COMCAST SPORTSNET TO TELEVISE FRIDAY'S GAME

The Phantoms have announced that Comcast SportsNet will air 10 games this season, beginning with Friday night's home opener against Hamilton. Flyers radio announcer Tim Saunders will handle the play-by-play, while Flyers color commentator Steve Coates will also be in the booth. The Phantoms' home game on Wednesday, Oct. 27 against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers will also be carried on Comcast SportsNet.

MEET THE TEAM PARTY ON TUESDAY AT CHICKIE'S AND PETE'S

On Tuesday, Oct. 19 at 6:00 p.m., the Phantoms will hold their annual "Meet the Team" party for fans and season ticket holders at Chickie's and Pete's Café in South Philadelphia (1526 Packer Ave). The event will be private for season ticket holders from 6:00-7:00 p.m., before the doors open to the public from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Fans are encouraged to come out and meet the players and coaching staff as they prepare for their home opener on Friday night.

STEVENS ON "INSIDE THE PHANTOMS"

Phantoms head coach John Stevens will be the first guest this season on "Inside the Phantoms" on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. Hosted by David Unkle, the show features a player interview, news on the team and ticket giveaways every other Tuesday throughout the season on WNJC (1360 AM).

SHARP TO APPEAR ON "DAILY NEWS LIVE" ON WEDNESDAY

Phantoms center Patrick Sharp will appear on Comcast SportsNet's "Daily News Live" on Wednesday to discuss the Phantoms' upcoming home opener. Sharp, who tallied a goal and an assist in Philadelphia's first two games over the weekend, will appear along with several Philadelphia Daily News columnists and host Michael Barkann at 6:15 p.m.

KANE ON "RUMBLE WITH THE PHANTOMS"

Captain Boyd Kane will be the guest on the Phantoms' weekly radio show, "Rumble with the Phantoms," this Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. Hosted by Tom Shaw, the show features a player interview, news on the team and ticket giveaways every Wednesday on WNJC (1360 AM).

STEVENS ON ESPN RADIO THURSDAY

Phantoms head coach John Stevens will be a guest on ESPN Radio's "Philly Sports Live" with hosts Tripp Rogers and John Mozes at 5:20 p.m. on Thursday. Fans can tune in to ESPN Radio in the Philadelphia area on 920 AM.

BERUBE ON WIP THURSDAY

Phantoms assistant coach Craig Berube will be a guest on the WIP morning show on Thursday morning. Berube is entering his second season as a coach with the club, and first full year behind the bench after serving as a player/coach last season.

PHANTOMS PHAN CLUB BOWLING PARTY THIS SUNDAY

The Phantoms' annual Phan Club Bowling Party is set for Sunday at Laurel Lanes in Maple Shade, N.J. The entire team will be in attendance, and will be split up into teams as they meet and mingle with the Phan Club members from 3-6 p.m.

VOCE AND SMITH AT PHANTOMS PLAYER CLINIC ON MONDAY

Phantoms forwards Tony Voce and Jeff Smith will help to conduct the first of 10 Phantoms Player Clinics on Monday at 5:30 p.m. The first clinic will be held at the Polonia Bank Flyers Skate Zone in Northeast Philadelphia, which is just minutes from where Voce grew up. Phantoms Player Clinics are sponsored by Carrabba's Italian Grill.

HALLOWEEN SPOOKTACULAR NEXT WEDNESDAY

Celebrate Halloween early this year during the Phantoms' annual Spooktacular on Wednesday, Oct. 27. Children 14 and under can wear their costumes to the game and take part in safe trick-or-treating on the concourse from 6:00-7:00 p.m. There will also be a Halloween Costume Parade on the ice during the first intermission.

FLYERS/PHANTOMS COACHING SYMPOSIUM NEXT TUESDAY

The seventh annual Flyers/Phantoms Coaching Symposium will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 26, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Sovereign Bank Flyers Skate Zone in Voorhees, N.J. The symposium is sponsored by Verizon Wireless. The symposium is designed to be one of interest to all coaches who want in-depth information on advanced coaching techniques and skills as presented by some of the top minds in the sport of hockey. Featured speakers include Flyers head coach Ken Hitchcock, Phantoms head coach John Stevens, and Phantoms assistant coaches Kjell Samuelsson and Craig Berube.

AHL ONLINE FANTASY CONTEST

Each week fans can select the winners of the AHL's weekend games and be eligible for great prizes, including the grand prize featuring a trip for two to the 2006 AHL All-Star Classic. PHANTOMS WEB SITE ADDITIONS

The Phantoms' newly redesigned official web site, www.phantomshockey.com, has added three new features. First, fans are now able to download the 2004-05 schedule into their Microsoft Outlook calendar. That feature is labeled "Download Schedule," and is located in the Schedule section. Also, the coloring contest winners, in which children draw the artwork for the tickets that are given to season ticket holders, can now be viewed under "Ticket Design Winners" in the History section. In addition, check out the newest game, Hangman, in the Kids Page section.
