FRIDAY IS COUNTRY NIGHT

Friday, March 26 is Country Night, as one lucky fan will win a trip for two to Nashville to see the CMT Flameworthy 2004 Music Video Awards. The package includes roundtrip airfare, 4-day/3-night Hilton Suite hotel accommodations, two VIP tickets to the awards show on April 21, admittance into a private concert with Carolyn Dawn Johnson at the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Welcome Dinner at the Wild Horse Saloon, a tour of Nashville and CMT merchandise. There will also be plenty of giveaways and prizes courtesy of CMT, WXTU (92.5 FM) and Comcast-Spectacor, including an autographed Kelly Coffey guitar, an autographed Clint Black CD and t-shirts.

CALDER CUP TROPHY TOUR HITS PHILADELPHIA

The Calder Cup 2004 Tour will hit Philadelphia this Friday, March 26 as part of its 49-day, 19-city, 11,000-mile journey across the country. The legendary trophy will be on display on the concourse throughout Friday's game, as well as at the Flyers-Islanders game on Thursday night.

The Calder Cup 2004 Tour offers fans the opportunity to view up close one of the oldest trophies in North American sports. The Calder Cup, which has been competed for since the 1936-37 season, features the names of players, coaches and support staff from the last 20 American Hockey League champions (the other 47 champions' plaques are on display at the Hockey Hall of Fame), and is accompanied by a special display highlighting the intensity and excitement of the Calder Cup Playoffs.

CINGULAR WIRELESS PRESENTS PHLEX'S EIGHTH BIRTHDAY

Team mascot Phlex will be celebrating his eighth birthday on Sunday, March 28 during Philadelphia's game vs. Manchester. Phlex will receive a cake during the first intermission and then join his mascot friends for a giant game of broomball during the second intermission. Cingular Wireless is sponsoring the night and will give away thundersticks to all fans in attendance.

PHANTOMS HELPING OUT FORMER "SLAP SHOT" STAR

The Phantoms will also be holding a silent auction on Sunday in support of fundraising activities for Louise Arters, who portrayed one of the blonde bombshell groupies known as the "Sparkle Twins" in the 1977 Universal Pictures release "Slap Shot." Appearing with Arters and "Sparkle Twin" twin sister Janet to drop the ceremonial opening puck are fellow "Slap Shot" actors Paul D'Amato (Tim "Dr. Hook" McCracken), Yvon Barrette (Denis Lemieux), Guido Tenesi (Billy Charlebois), Christopher Murney (Hanrahan) & Bill "Goldie" Goldthorpe, the real life player that the movie's infamous Ogie Ogelthorpe character was based on.

The silent auction will include autographed Phantoms and Flyers memorabilia, Phantoms ticket packages, as well as Charlestown Chiefs jerseys, photos and pucks. Last year's event raised over $2,600, while giving Phantoms fans the opportunity to speak with the legendary cast members.

SCOUT SLEEPOVER NIGHT A SUCCESS

Over 2,500 children took part in the first Scout Sleepover Night on March 19. Scout troops received a ticket to that night's 3-2 overtime win over Wilkes-Barre/Scranton at the Wachovia Spectrum and then got to camp out inside the Wachovia Center. Disney's Brother Bear was screened on the arena's videoboard and all participants received a late-night snack and breakfast.

ADOPT-A-PET NIGHT RESULTS IN 15 MATCHES

In conjunction with the People-Pet Partnership, the second Adopt-A-Pet Night on March 21 resulted in 15 animals being adopted by Phantoms fans. Set up at different areas of the concourse before and during the game, the assortment of dogs, puppies, cats, kittens and rabbits got to mingle with prospective owners, who had to meet eligibility requirements and pay a registration fee if interested. The Pennsylvania SPCA, Philadelphia Animal Care and Control Association (PACCA) and Little Lions all supplied the adoptable animals. Last year's Adopt-A Pet Night resulted in 13 matches.

OCTANE TO PERFORM ON MARCH 31

Following Philadelphia's game on Wednesday, March 31 vs. Norfolk, local rock band Octane will be performing at the Spectrum thanks to WYSP (94.1 FM). Octane was the winner of the 2003 Philadelphia Music Awards: Best Original Band and Best Original CD, and has opened for 3 Doors Down, Judas Priest and Poison. Everyone with a ticket to the Phantoms game that night will get to stay for the concert.

SEASON TICKET HOLDER SKATING PARTY ON TUESDAY

Attention season ticket holders: don't forget the annual skating party is set for this Tuesday, March 23 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the Sovereign Bank Flyers Skate Zone in Voorhees, N.J. Here's your chance to skate around and eat dinner with the Phantoms players and coaches. Prizes will also be given away in the raffle.

PHANTOMS AT HOCKEY 4 KIDS FUNDRAISER

Ten Phantoms players will be appearing at the fourth annual Hockey 4 Kids fundraiser on Wednesday, March 24 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. The event is held at Copperfield's Restaurant on Route 73 in Mt. Laurel, N.J.

NIITTYMAKI SIGNING AUTOGRAPHS AT CARL'S CARDS ON MONDAY

Goaltender Antero Niittymaki will be signing autographs at Carl's Cards & Collectibles on Monday, March 29 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The store is located at 1217 Darby Road in Havertown, PA.

FINAL CN8 BROADCAST SET FOR FRIDAY

CN8, the Comcast Network, is airing a total of six Phantoms games throughout the 2003-04 season, with the final telecast set for this Friday, March 26 at 7:00 p.m. vs. the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. The CN8 broadcast team features Mick Moninghoff and Orest Kindrachuk. CN8 is a leading regional news, sports and entertainment network that reaches 6.2 million homes spanning from Maine to Maryland.

The next edition of "Inside the Phantoms" will take place on Tuesday, March 23 at 4:30 p.m. with defenseman John Slaney. Hosted by David Unkle, the show features a player interview, news on the team and ticket giveaways every other Tuesday throughout the season on WNJC (1360 AM).

STAFFORD ON "RUMBLE WITH THE PHANTOMS"

Center Ben Stafford will be the guest on the Phantoms' weekly radio show, "Rumble with the Phantoms," this Wednesday, March 24 at 4:30 p.m. Hosted by Tom Shaw, the show features a player interview, news on the team and ticket giveaways every Wednesday on WNJC (1360 AM).
