Adirondack Phantoms News Release

PHILADELPHIA - Comcast-Spectacor announced today that Frank Miceli, an 18-year-employee and the current Chief Operating Officer of both the Philadelphia Phantoms and Philadelphia Wings, is resigning to become the new Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for (San Antonio) Spurs Sports & Entertainment, which includes the San Antonio Spurs of the NBA, the American Hockey League San Antonio Rampage, the WNBA Silver Stars, the NBA D-League Austin Toros and all events at the AT&T Center.

"Frank has been an integral part of the growth and success of Comcast-Spectacor as a leader in the sports and entertainment industry," said Comcast-Spectacor Chairman Ed Snider. "I know I'm really going to miss Frank, especially his enthusiasm and his humor. This has been a hard decision for me to accept as Frank has been a long-time employee."

"I've had the real pleasure of literally growing up in the business with Frank and I consider him one of my closest friends," said Comcast-Spectacor President Peter Luukko. "This was such a fantastic opportunity for Frank and we all support his decision. We are all going to miss Frank and wish him and his family much success in San Antonio."

"I want to thank Ed Snider and Peter Luukko for all of their friendship, and the confidence they showed in me over the last 18 years," said Miceli. "I've learned more than I ever thought I could from both of them. Their entrepreneurial spirit and friendship, I will treasure forever. Comcast-Spectacor is a world-class organization in every sense of the word. I've been blessed to be part of such an exciting business that I dreamed about since I was a small boy living just a few blocks from the Spectrum. I will miss all of my colleagues and staff who worked so closely with me to help me achieve the level of success that I was able to reach at Comcast-Spectacor."

A South Philadelphia native, Miceli has been the COO of the Phantoms since their inaugural season in 1996. He was recently honored with the distinguished Thomas Ebright Award in recognition of his career contributions to the American Hockey League. He also is a past winner of the James C. Hendy Award, which is presented to the AHL's outstanding executive.

Miceli additionally oversaw the day-to-day operations of three minor league affiliates of the Baltimore Orioles for Comcast-Spectacor from 2000 until the company sold the teams in 2006. He then added to his role the responsibilities of COO of the Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League in 2006.

Prior to joining the Phantoms, Miceli was the Director of Sales and Marketing for the Flyers, managing over 15,000 season ticket accounts. In that role, he was responsible for moving the entire season ticket base of the Flyers into their new home at the Wachovia Center. He began his career with Comcast-Spectacor in 1990 as Vice President of Marketing and Advertising for Spectathlete, which the company no longer owns.

Prior to joining Comcast-Spectacor, Miceli served as the Advertising Director for the Clover division of Strawbridge & Clothier in Philadelphia, Advertising Manager for John Wanamaker in Philadelphia, and Advertising Director for Gimbels in both New York and Philadelphia.

Miceli attended St. Joseph's Prep High School and attended the University of Scranton on a baseball scholarship, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree. He will relocate to San Antonio with his wife, Michelle and their two daughters Amanda and Maria.

The Phantoms will begin the 2008-09 American Hockey League season, their final regular season at the Wachovia Spectrum, on Friday, Oct. 10 against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Comcast-Spectacor recently announced that the Wachovia Spectrum will close after the Phantoms conclude their 2008-09 season. The Spectrum opened on September 30, 1967 with the Quaker City Jazz Festival. After nearly 30 seasons of Philadelphia Flyers hockey and Philadelphia 76ers basketball, the Spectrum gave way to the Wachovia Center in 1996.

The best way for fans to secure a ticket for the final game on April 12, 2009 is to purchase either a game plan package or season tickets. Packages are available now in convenient blocks of 6, 10, 16, 20 and 40 games. Receiving an impressive list of exclusive benefits, discount prices and the same seat for each game begins at just $60!
