Michael Pfenniger knocked in four runs as the Saugerties Stallions (8-12) took home a 7-3 victory over the Glens Falls Dragons (5-16) at Cantine Memorial Veterans Field on Monday.
Pfenninger belted a bases clearing triple to the center field wall as the Stallions took a 5-1 lead early in the second inning. Adam Chase hit the first Stallion's home run at Cantine Field this season in the bottom of the fourth inning to increase the Stallions lead.
The Saugerties Stallions relied on Andrew Workman to eat up innings en route to the win. Workman pitched eight innings and allowed three earned runs, seven hits and one walk while striking out three.
Nate Cardy had two extra-base hits for the Glens Falls Dragons. He homered in the fourth inning and doubled in the eighth inning.
John Bednarek couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Glens Falls Dragons, taking a loss. He lasted just three innings, walked five, struck out four, and allowed five runs.
