
Petricek Selected to MASL Team of the Week

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA - December 20, 2016 - Rookie sensation Brett Petricek has been named to the Major Arena Soccer League Week 8 Team of the Week for his efforts in the Cedar Rapids Rampage's 6-3 win over the St. Louis Ambush on Sunday.
Petricek leads the MASL with seven wins and has led the first place Rampage to six straight victories. On Sunday, he was credited with 17 saves, while allowing only three goals. He shut out the Ambush in the first half, helping his teammates compile a 6-0 lead by halftime.
This is the first time Petricek has been named to the Team of the Week, but he has received an Honorable Mention twice. In nine games he has been First Star of the game once and Second Star four times.
The 25-year old from Woodridge, IL, also ranks sixth in the MASL with a 4.96 GAA.
Forward Hewerton Moreira, who scored two goals against St. Louis on Sunday, was given an Honorable Mention when the league announced its Team of the Week today.
The Rampage will be off until December 31 when they host the expansion Florida Tropics at a special 2:05pm kick-off time. Tickets are on sale now starting at just $9 and can be purchased from Ticketmaster.com or at the U.S. Cellular Center box office.
Now in its ninth season, the Major Arena Soccer League represents the highest level of professional indoor soccer in the world, and features 17 teams throughout United States and Mexico. The league, originally known as the Professional Arena Soccer League, began play in 2008. In 2014 teams from the PASL and Major Indoor Soccer League combined to form the MASL. The Cedar Rapids Rampage are now in their second season and play in the MASL's Central Division with the Kansas City Comets, Milwaukee Wave, Chicago Mustangs, and St. Louis Ambush.
