Pensacola Wins in Shootout

Biloxi, MS - After two consecutive overtime victories, the Surge fell to the IceFlyers in a shootout at the Coliseum.

Assisted by Andrew Harrison, Jordan Peddle got the Surge on the board just 68 seconds into the game, scoring his second goal in as many nights. In the second period, Tom Craig scored his first goal as a member of the Surge on a power play, assisted by Evan Zych and Jeff Martens.

The real fireworks came in the final period, when pensacola's John Dunbar scored twice, tying the game, and sending it into overtime. After a scoreless overtime period, Ross MacKinnon blanked the Surge while Corey Banfield and Ryan Salvis scored, sealing the deal for Pensacola.

Pensacola's net-minder, Ross MacKinnon saved 18 picking up his 15th win of the year, eclipsing his total of 14 last season. Across the ice, Surge goaltender Dan Clarke saved 33, losing in overtime for the second time in his last 4 starts.

The Surge look to take down Columbus at their next home game on Thursday, February 27.
