Penguins Announce 2010-11 Promotional Schedule

September 8, 2010 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins News Release

The fans have spoken, and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins are listening.

Improved season ticket holder gifts, super-affordable nights out, and unique game night giveaways are just some of the ways the Penguins are putting FANS FIRST during the 2010-11 season.

"We've always believed that we have the best fans in the American Hockey League," said Penguins CEO Jeff Barrett. "Now we are showing the most dedicated supporters in the league that we are putting FANS FIRST with a great array of game night gifts and deals this season."

Penguins season ticket holders will receive three exclusive gifts from the team this season, depending on the size of their ticket packages. Included in the gifts are the team's trading card set (flex book, six-game, 12-game, 22-game and full season ticket holders), a season ticket holder fleece blanket (22-game and full season ticket holders), and a one-of-a-kind season ticket holder only bobblehead (full season ticket holders), which will be revealed in the near future.

Fans were able to give their input into the 2010-11 selection of game night promotional items via the Fan Poll option on the team's website (www.wbspenguins.com), and on the team's Facebook page. More than 750 votes were cast on the website, and nearly 100 other suggestions were submitted through Facebook, and those responses were used when deciding which items to include in the upcoming season's schedule.

New items on the promotional list for this season include a Penguins Wobbler doll (March 19 vs. Worcester), a holiday-themed skull cap (Dec. 17 vs. Abbotsford), a die-cast car giveaway to coincide with Pocono Raceway Night and Fan Appreciation Night (April 8 vs. Hershey). Additionally, there will be two kid's themed giveaways during the year, with Penguins Themed Silly Wrist Bands (Feb. 13 vs. Hershey) and Penguins Jersey Bags (Dec. 11 vs. Norfolk) being given to the first 1,500 fans 14 and younger on those days.

There will also be some old favorites, but with some twists.

Penguins Game-Worn Jersey Cards are once again on the list, with five different cards being given away on four nights. The majority of the cards will contain swatches of the players' uniforms worn during opening night 2010. But also included in the collection this season will be pieces from select players' jerseys worn during the 2007, 2008 and 2009 Pittsburgh Penguins rookie camp games in Kitchner, Ontario.

The two most anticipated promotions however will be bobbleheads featuring Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby sporting the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton sweaters they wore during the 2009 Black and Gold Game, played in Wilkes-Barre.

Friday nights will feature added value, as DOLLAR DOGS AND DRAFTS return to the arena. During each of the team's nine Friday night games, the Penguins will be serving up 1,500 hot dogs for just $1.00 apiece (first come, first served), and select draft beers will be available for $1.00 between 6:00 and 7:30pm.

College students also can enjoy the fun with the Penguins Student Rush Program. By simply showing a valid student I.D. at the Pennstar Box Office at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza, college students can receive a blue or gold zone ticket to any game for just $12.00 (based on availability).

Other ticket deals, featuring family-friendly pricing and great gifts, will be announced in the near future.

Season tickets and mini-packages for the Penguins' 12th season of American Hockey League action are on sale now, and available by calling the Penguins ticket department at 570-208-7367.
