Pensacola Pelicans News Release
The Pensacola Pelicans want to show their support to the community in light of circumstances this past week. The Pelicans announced today they are going to donate 10 percent of 2005 Season Ticket sales purchased thru December 31, 2004 to the Florida Hurricane Relief Fund.
Governor Jeb Bush established the Florida Hurricane Relief Fund to assist communities in rebuilding. This fund will be used for needs unmet by other disaster relief organizations also working to help rebuild lives and communities. Communities will decide how their allocations from this fund should be spent, and the most heavily impacted communities will receive the greatest percentage of these funds.
The slogan of the Florida Hurricane Relief Fund is: "Together we can rise and rebuild."
This donation will go along with the thousands already donated by the Pelicans to various churches and charitable organizations over the past couple of years thru the Pelicans Payback Program.
The Pensacola Pelicans are the community's team and we want to support the community wherever help is needed.
"We feel this is something we have to do as an organization and as citizens living in this area. Our fans have supported us and now we want do the same for them," said Pelicans Owners Quint and Rishy Studer.
What better way to help out your neighbor, than to go to a Pelicans baseball game? You can order your tickets by calling 934-8444 or by visiting the website at www.pensacolapelicans.com.
The Pelicans office will re-open on Monday, Sept. 27.
