
PEI Rocket Announce Fan's Choice Awards

The PEI Rocket Fan's Choice Awards will be a tribute to the 2009-2010 edition of the PEI Rocket. Once again this year, the fans will have their say on which Rocket players should be recipients of the various awards that are up for grabs. From March 1st to 8th, Rocket fans will have the opportunity to vote for the recipients of each award. All voting will be completed online through the PEI Rocket website. The list of Awards that will be presented include:
Source For Sports Rookie of the Year
Rodd Hotels & Resorts Offensive Player of the Year
Arsenault Best Cameron Ellis Defensive Player of the Year
Confederation Bridge Fan Favorite
Murphy's Pharmacies Most Dedicated Player
In addition to the Fan's Choice Awards that will be presented, the following Awards will also be presented:
Bell Aliant Student of the Year - as selected by the Academic Consultants
Mayor's Choice Community Involvement Award - as selected by The City of Charlottetown
Mark's Work Wearhouse Hardest Working Award - selected based on the plus/minus stats
Mooselight Player of the Year Award - As selected by the point standings for the Mooselight Three Star selections
ALC Volunteer of the Year Award
ISE's GM's Award - Most Dedicated Employee
Budget Car and Truck Rental Leading Edge Award (Voted by the players) - This award will be given to the Rocket player that shows:1. Dedication and commitment to the team, 2. Team Player, 3. Hardest working player
This year's PEI Rocket Fan's Choice Awards will take place on Sunday, March 14th immediately following the final regular season game against the Halifax Mooseheads. A reception will begin at 6:30 PM and dinner will follow at 7:30 PM. This year's Fan's Choice Awards will be held at the Rodd Royalty Courtyard.
As part of the event, fans will be treated to a fantastic dinner and an entertaining evening.
Tickets are on sale now for $45.00 per adult, $25 per child (13 and under) or $400.00 for a corporate table of ten people. Proceeds from the evening will support the PEI Rocket Player's Education Fund which provides scholarships and bursaries to players to continue their education. Any interested individuals can contact the Rocket office for more information.
