
PEI Rocket Announce Fan's Choice Awards Dinner

The PEI Rocket have announced the details for this year's Fans Choice Awards dinner which will be held on Sunday, March 15th at the Charlottetown Civic Centre Trade Centre and will immediately follow the final game of the regular season against the Saint John Seadogs.
The night is a chance for fans to get up close and personal with the players as the organization pays tribute to the 2008-2009 award winners. Fans will be able to visit the PEI Rocket website between March 2nd and March 10th to vote for the most deserving Rocket players in each of the categories".
"As an organization, we feel it is extremely important to celebrate our team members for their dedication during the past season", said President Serge Savard, Jr. "We have a great group of kids and they deserve this opportunity to be recognized. This event is meant to be a chance for our fans to wish the players well as they begin the playoffs. We are also very excited to have our fans as the decision makers in many of the awards that will be handed out".
As part of the event, fans will be treated to a fantastic dinner and an entertaining evening. Some of the highlights of the past year will be included in a video montage as a tribute to the players. In addition, GM Kent Hudson is expected to provide some amusing moments that perhaps are not necessarily considered highlights but more in tune with a 'roast' of many of the players. "We want it be a very enjoyable evening and use it as a kick off for our players for the 2009 Playoffs...it will be a great evening for sure", said Hudson.

Rodd Hotels & Resorts - Offensive Player of the Year (Selected by Fans)
Arsenault Best Cameron Ellis - Defensive Player of the Year (Selected by Fans)
Confederation Bridge - Fan Favorite (Selected by Fans)
Murphy's Pharmacies - Most Dedicated Player (Selected by Fans)
Aliant - Student of the Year (Chosen by the Academic Consultants)
Mayor's Choice - Community Involvement Award - Chosen by the City of Charlottetown
Mark's Work Wearhouse - Hardest Working Award (Based on Plus/Minus Stats)
Mooselight - Player of the Year Award - Chosen by Three Star Selection
This year's Fan's Choice Awards will feature a fantastic menu designed by Award winning Chef, Jeff McCourt of the CDPEC. The banquet will feature an all-you-can-eat buffet with Chef's Award-winning seafood chowder, carvery-roast hip of Island beef, BBQ ribs, roast chicken and steamed Island blue mussels, an assortment of cold salads, PEI potatoes (mashed and roasted), steamed vegetables, homemade dessert buffet including a delectable chocolate fountain, and of course, coffee and tea.
During the event, there will be a silent auction and live auction that takes place featuring memorabilia from the Rocket, NHL players and teams, along with packages from a variety of local establishments.
Tickets are on sale now for $45.00 per person or $400.00 for a corporate table of ten people. Proceeds from the evening will support the PEI Rocket Player's Education Fund which provides scholarships and bursaries to players to continue their education.
