Pegoraro Returns for 07-08

BOSSIER CITY, LA - The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs of the Central Hockey League today announced the signing of forward Daniel Pegoraro for the 2007-2008 season.
Pegoraro returns to the Mudbugs for his second professional season after finishing last year tied with Karlis Zirnis for third on the team in scoring. His 17 goals and 52 points ranked him seventh in CHL rookie scoring a year ago. Playing in 60 games, Pegoraro's 35 assists were second for Bossier-Shreveport, surpassed only by leading scorer Chris Brassard's 38. He also finished with a +14 rating and scored three game-winning goals.
During the 2007 CHL playoffs, the 5-foot-11, 188 pound Toronto native led the team with eight more assists and had nine total points in 11 contests.
"We're obviously very pleased to have Daniel return to the Mudbugs for the coming season of play," said General Manager Steve Cherwonak. "Daniel was a key component of our Governors' Cup (regular season) championship squad last year, and we expect him to take on an even more significant role in 2007-2008."
Pegoraro joins Brassard, Zirnis, Joe Ori, Brett Smith, Darryl Lloyd, and Tyrel Lucas as forwards signed for the upcoming season. The Mudbugs have also locked up defensemen Jason Basile, Quade Lightbody, Dale Lupul and Jake Ortmeyer and goaltender John DeCaro on the defensive end for 07-08.
Bossier-Shreveport's training camp starts on Monday, October 8th, with the season opener at Mississippi slated for only 11 days later on Friday, October 19th.
