Pee Dee Cyclones Add College All-Star Defenseman
Pee Dee Cyclones Head Coach & Director of Hockey Operations, Mark Richards, has announced that defenseman Jason Slusher, who played college hockey this past season with Lebanon Valley College (ECAC) in Pennsylvania, has agreed to terms for the upcoming 2005/06 hockey season in the Southern Professional Hockey League.
The 6'-2", 218 pound native of Belair, Maryland played three seasons for the Lebanon Valley Flying Dutchmen; playing his home games in the historic HersheyPark Arena in Hershey, Pennsylvania. He was Lebanon Valley's third-leading scorer last year with nineteen points (six goals and thirteen assists) and was named to the All-ECAC West Second All-Star Team. After transferring from New England College, Slusher, 23, finished his college career with the third-most career goals (17), assists (38), and points (55) by a defenseman in Lebanon Valley College ice hockey history.
"With Jason we've added good size on defense," said Cyclones coach Mark Richards. "He was a solid two-way player who was good with the puck and can also score goals."
