The Yakima Bears beat the Everett Aquasox 4-3 Thursday at Yakima County Stadium and now lead the five-game series 2-0. The Bears improved to 3-5 in the second half of the Northwest League season with the victory.

Pitching led the way in the win, as Bears starter John Pedrotty had his longest and best outing of the season. Pedrotty allowed only earned run in six and a third innings on his way to his first professional win.

Pedrotty was spotted the lead early by the Bears offense, as Marc Bourgeois hit a triple in the first inning to score Westley Moss, who had reached on a single.

Blake went on to pitch one and a third innings total without a run charged to him. Randy Hamrick earned his first save of the season with a scoreless ninth inning. The Bears staff faced only three batters in seven of the nine innings and all five hits allowed were singles during the 4-3 win.
