South Georgia Peanuts News Release
The South Georgia Peanuts, presented by Security Bank, began the final series of the regular season with a 2-0 win over the Bradenton Juice on Monday night. The Peanuts were held scoreless for the first five innings but picked up two runs late in the game to secure the win.
Going into the bottom of the sixth innings, Juice Starting pitcher was throwing a shutout. Doc Brooks led the inning off with a single before Desi Wilson reached on an error to put runners on first and second. After Jasha Balcom sacrificed the runners up, Josh Eachues struck out for the second out of the inning. Collis then walked Nick Prosise to load the bases and Jonny Washington to put the Peanuts up 1-0.
In the bottom of the seventh inning with one out, Joey Hooft hit a solid double to left-center. After Luke Palmer came in from the Bradenton bullpen, Doc Brooks hit an RBI single to score Hooft. That was all the scoring South Georgia needed to hold on for the victory.

Drew Shetrone pitched a perfect ninth with two strikeouts to pick up his league-leading 12th save of the season.
The Peanuts only picked up seven hits on the night. Brooks had three of them going 3-4 with a run scored an RBI. Dumas Garcia picked up his first hit of the season while Curtis Goodwin, Eachues and Hooft were the only other Peanuts with a hit.
